Easy installation, comes with everything as advertised. 4 stars is due to the ac/dc adapter that was supplied for the power to the cameras was the wrong size, had to buy a 12v5a adapter. After installation I had 1 camera working with Night Vision due to the power supply being the wrong size.

To be honest, this Hikvision kit is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, you’re getting a solid, reliable system from a big name without breaking the bank, and the Hik-Connect app is surprisingly smooth for checking in on your house while you're away. It’s a great "set it and forget it" option if you just want basic eyes on your property. However, the 720P resolution really shows its age; it’s fine for seeing that a person is standing there, but if you’re trying to read a license plate or get a crisp face for an insurance claim, the footage is going to look pretty grainy. Plus, let’s be real—running those thick BNC cables through walls and attics is a total headache compared to modern wireless or PoE systems. It’s a decent, budget-friendly starter kit, but you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to the fine details.

The kit includes all necessary components, and the instructions were easy to follow. The only reason I’m giving it a 4.5 instead of a full 5 is that I wish the cables were a bit longer for more flexible placement. the cameras are great. great video quality. However, the adapter for the cameras should be at least 5A. due to low amperes, 3 cameras switch off at night and only one camera remains operational. So one need to buy a 12v 5A AC/DC adapter

The 1 camera was only on for 1 day, I hired a technician to come and look at it. He got the camera to work again but he told me that it could be the power cables is not strong enough, or something like that, and eventually I'll have to replace the cables. The next day that same camera was out again and it's still out. Overall the picture quality is good. Day & Night. Instalation easy. I'm happy with the product, I just don't know what im going to do about the 1 camera that's not working.

I was a bit sceptical because I saw a few reviews that were a bit negative about night view and glitches but I'm absolutely happy I chose this product the night view is clear as well as daytime, no issues switching to infrared and I set up the online viewing myself I also wired everything myself all the cables worked as intended and it was straightforward.

Well the cameras are good, but I feel they are good for indoors or small spaces.maybe buy 1080p coz the image quality is not that great on these ones but does the work.detect cars n humans perfectly.easy to install.doesn’t come with hard drive, for recording purpose but still works without one.the cables are long enough

Great Kit
Great set for what I needed (small domestic installation), easy enough to install and get working through the app. One review I read said you needed to pay for an app which isn't the case. The app is free and works well (no delay or lag). It does draw quite a bit of bandwidth (of my 20mbps line). Picture quality is ideal so the 1080P must be amazing. I found the 'tail' of the cameras a bit short so best suited to be houses in a waterproof box (not included obviously). I have hardwired HDMI to the TV and hardwired the ethernet to the router so can't comment on the WiFi alone. This kit alone doesn't record (which it says so no surprise). There is a USB slot but that is only for a backup IF a hard drive is installed (internally which is beyond my IT skills). If I were to buy another set for the other side of the house I would probably go for the version with the hard drive and USB backup. 20m needs some planning beforehand but I knew that before I bought it. Very happy.

This kit is easy to install...provided you know what you need. The user manual is difficult to understand so I was dependant on youtube videos. You will need to get a computer hard drive...other than that, you'll have your system running in less than 2 hours.

My husband was able to setup the entire system himself at one of our shops and it does the job. You do have to by a internal hard drive as it doesn’t come with one. The quality isn’t the greats but like I mentioned before it does the job.

Do not use the power supply included.
The camera quality is good during the day and I have not tested the night time quality. The power supply melted the first 20 meter cable I connected and it had smoke coming out of it. I then connected the rest using an old power supply I had and everything started working.

Has a web ui so you can manage it from your chrome browser. Had mine setup for remote viewing in under 5 minutes. Excellent video quality. Night video is as clear as it is during the daytime. You can setup alerts for when motion is detected. Pretty cool.

I'm more than happy with the product. Picture quality is great and easy to set up! However I think takealot should relook the payment options. I took mine over 4 equal payments (1 payment every 2nd week). Would be great to pay it monthly over 3/4 months as most people get paid monthly.
