    I upgraded from a yale 4 channel to this 8 channel and it is a amazing upgrade. Works well with my existing Hilook cameras and added a TP link Tapo IP camera that works very well with this system. I also installed a 1TB hard drive to complete the setup. The HIK vision app is also very user friendly and has nice features.

    Firstly, I was not aware that unit did not have a harddrive. Nevertheless ran installation just to find out it was used before because I couldn't activate it. Will rather buy unit that already has a hard drive. I also did not find it as user-friendly for normal people. Also box wasn't sealed and was dirty . It should have told me something.

    Took some time to setup the IP camera function. Initially though we cannot add 8 IP cameras but did. So you can only do 8 cameras. Not 8 dedicated cable and 8 IP cameras.

    I used the 2mp Hikvision before this one. The 4mp is so much better quality. This is even with my old 2mp cameras.
    The interface is also updated with more features.

    It is a simple little box with space for the HDD. Comes with a mouse to navigate the user interface. Simple enough to use and set up your cameras. Pretty much plug and play, but also allows more detailed configuration for events, time to record, areas to exclude / include on trigger events. Definitely worth getting the 8 channel to allow for more cameras if needed at very little extra cost.
