SFP Fiber Optic 1.25G 1550nm 80Km LCDDM

The SFP-GE-ZX80 1.25G 1550nm 80KM Single Mode Fibre SFP is a long-distance optical transceiver designed for compatible Gigabit Ethernet networking equipment. Operating at 1550nm and supporting transmission distances of up to 80 kilometres over single-mode fibre, it is suitable for extended fibre links used in enterprise networks, service-provider infrastructure, metropolitan networks and other long-distance communication applications.

The module uses a standard SFP hot-pluggable form factor and an LC optical interface for connection to compatible fibre cabling and network equipment. Published specifications for the SFP-GE-ZX80 identify a 1.25Gbps data rate, 1550nm wavelength, 80KM reach, single-mode fibre, DDM support and LC connectivity.

The optical transmitter uses a 1550nm DFB laser, while the receiver is specified as a PIN-based receiver on commonly documented versions. This combination is designed for long-distance Gigabit Ethernet optical transmission.

Long-Distance Fibre Connectivity

With a rated reach of up to 80KM, the SFP-GE-ZX80 is intended for applications where standard short-range Ethernet optics are not sufficient. Actual achievable distance depends on the fibre type, optical loss, connectors, splices, link budget and equipment at both ends.

DDM Monitoring

The module supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) on documented versions. When supported by the host network equipment, DDM can provide information useful for monitoring the optical module and diagnosing fibre-link conditions.
