The Philips Avent Nipple Shields 21mm Medium are designed to support mothers experiencing breastfeeding latch difficulties or sensitive, sore and painful nipples. Made from ultra-thin, soft silicone, the shields provide a protective barrier while helping mother and baby continue breastfeeding comfortably.

The innovative butterfly-shaped design is specifically shaped to maximise skin-to-skin contact during feeding. The open areas allow baby`s nose and chin to remain in contact with the breast, helping baby smell mother`s natural scent and maintain close physical contact while feeding.

Philips Avent Nipple Shields can provide additional support for babies experiencing early latch-on challenges. They may also assist mothers with flat or inverted nipples by providing a defined nipple shape that can make it easier for baby to latch during feeding.

Cleaning & Hygiene

The nipple shields should be cleaned before each use.

Philips provides two preparation options:

Boiling: Place the cleaned shields in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes.

Hygienic Case: Place both well-rinsed shields in the supplied case, add 25ml / 0.9 fl oz of water, and microwave at 750–1,000W for approximately 3 minutes. Allow them to cool for approximately 5 minutes before draining the water and handling.
