WAHL Cutek Advanced Hair Straightener

It's a perfectly acceptable straighter for its price. According to the internet it gets hotter than a GHD but it's not as effective. Though for the price you can't really expect a GHD equivalent. I have thick hair, and thick hairs, so I think this is a great straighter for someone with thinner and or less hair.

This hair straightener was on a special and I finally bought it. I do NOT regret buying this. This works so, so well. It gets hot so fast and you do not need to use the highest heat to get the results u want. I barely use it on half it's highest heat settings. I have average thickness long hair. If you are an average income person and in need of a proper yet affordable straightener, I really do recommend this one. I never leave reviews. But Impressed! The lead is SUPER long! The buttons are sturdy. It gets Hot super fast. Once you put it off it goes cold fast too (To be able to put it away) It looks expensive and "acts" expensive. VERY Happy I finally caved and bought it.

I bought this straightener after being convinced by all of the good reviews. I am so glad that I did. After 3 days my hair was still straight, which never used to happen when straightening with my ghd. Extremely impressed.

This is a brilliant purchase for the price point. I just opened it and it works and the temp can be changed. It feels kind of cheap in materials, although it is cheap in price so its justified... The flat iron part is smaller than I expected so I would use it for someone with thinner hair or if you're using it for parts of your hair rather than your whole head- I have thick and long hair (past shoulders). I wish the description had mentioned it as better suited to someone with thinner hair

I had a GHD that stopped working so decided to try the Wahl as the price was very good. The straightener is light which makes it easier to use, although you have to really make sure to hold the arms tightly closed. The temperature control is a great feature, just look up to see what temp is best for your hair type!

The Wahl straightner is nice and small but the heat is not great. Although it shows up to 230 degrees it is not that hot.

I would definitely recommend this product. I have very curly hair but my curls isn't a match for this straightener, it straightens from the root down to the ends and keeps it's heat for over an hour.

For the price, it's excellent. It's obviously not as powerful as the very hot (expensive) GHD. My hair is thin, but frizzy. It straightens it well, but my hair does eventually get A LITTLE frizzy, especially in humid weather. But, for the most part is stays straight and flat.

I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. My old straightener was about 8 to 9 years old. I paid R2000 rand for it and it did not work nearly as well as this one. After using the Whal I am more than impressed. Normally my hair will start curling as the day goes on.. Not with this straightener. As I type this it has been a hot and humid day and my hair is still straight. LOVE IT! will recommend!

I'm satisfied for the fact that it does my curls very nice and smooth, my hair is thick so you need to do little pieces but does the job. The heat is medium doesn't make hair that thin but then again your hair is safe regarding heat damage.

I have very thick, very curly hair that's mid length. I was looking for a budget-friendly ghd replacement and this one did not disappoint. It doesn't glide like a ghd, and you need to go over each section multiple times, but I got the results I wanted. Here's what I did on a Sunday: Washed my mega locks in the morning (I use Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner) While my hair was damp, I applied my Bed Head straighten out cream. (I live in Durban and this is a dream product for humidity) I let my hair air dry for the day. Used my cheapy hair brush/dryer combo thingy (that I got from takealot for like R200) to blow dry my fat curls into submission, section by section. This took 30 minutes. Then, I took the smallest sections and ironed my blow dried hair with my Wahl straightener. The result: straight, healthy hair that has lasted me through my five-day workweek. (Sidenote: I'm also a runner and I've done 3 runs this week, and topped up with dry shampoo on Wednesday morning. My hair has held up from the roots to the ends.)

So far so good! I've been using this for a few weeks now, I'm very happy with the quality. I really like the fact that you can adjust the temperature. This has come in handy because I bought it for work and have been using it on a variety of wigs (some of them need the lowest temperature/just off with the residual heat). Super fast heating and extra long cord, the heat didn't quite eliminate frizz on my type 2B-C thick curls, my hair felt a bit straw after use so I decided to cut out and major damage and I had to return the product. This straightener will definitely work on normal curly, but not thick hair, and best on fine hair. Some pros - long cord, did get the hair straight from the root without too much work, this product is good for anyone who can get away with low heat, my hair is unruly so it's not really a surprise that I need more heat! Having said that, it was comfortable to use, super light and the heat wasn't too bad. For those with fine hair, this product would be great!

This straighter heats up in seconds however doesn't seem to stay the same tempreture throughout the hairbeat process. So some sections look sleek and shiny and others look frizzy. Good for thick, frizzy hair. Does not burn or pull the tips of your hair. You can adjust the heat according to your preferences, works just as good as a GHD or cloud. The iron does burn your hands however, if they could work on the handle so that it does not burn.

The iron worked well, especially on resistant hair. You can clearly see the difference of this flat iron to the cheaper ones. Its not as great as GHD though, but for the price it does the job. If this works so well, imagine a GHD.

I love this straightener. The cord is nice and long, it is not fixed therefore moves when you move making it easy to work with and not get knotted in cords. The size is great , not too small and not too big. The temperature is hot yet, you can turn it up or down as you need and it gets hot fast. I'm very happy with this product and the price is good.
