Made watching DVD's a reality
Most DVD players are not compatible to the new Smart TV's and I was worried that I could no longer watch DVD's especially the ones of family gatherings. Thanks to the Converter adapter I have the luxury of watching old DVD's and enjoying the memories.

It works but...
In one of the strangest decisions ever; if you're running a 4:3 aspect ratio resolution on the source device then the picture will STILL be scaled as if it was wide screen leaving black bars on the sides of the destination device.
i.e. 640x480 and 800x600 look awful on a PAL television because they are squashed into only the centre of the screen.
Who possibly thought this was the expected use case?! -

Product works fine, but gets a bit hot after some extended use. But other than that, it works perfectly fine and is exactly what you pay for. Just take care to look at what you want to convert. You CANNOT convert AV to HDMI with this, you have to buy the alternate version that does that.

Used this to convert a chrome cast to audio for speakers. It works but the audio out sounds really grainy especially at higher volumes.

Does what is is meant to well enough for me to be satisfied.
I used it to stream rugby world cup games from PC to my video recorder, so that I can skip all the boring water breaks, resetting of scrums, and investigations by the TMO into whether or not someone's brain function when they reach the age of sixty might have been compromised by the poor tackle technique of an overzealous English fly-half. Worked well in that regard, if you don't mind losing quite a bit of video resolution. Initially, I had it plugged into a power supply, using the supplied USB cable. Some time later I discovered that it works just fine without any additional power source. (And no, the resolution is exactly the same with and without it connected to a power supply). All in all, it enabled me to watch more World Cup Rugby than I ordinarily would, which made it a worthwhile purchase. Best of all, as far as I can tell, there no potential danger of brain damage to the user.

I bought this for an old retro TV game console
It doesn't work. But I think the problem may actually lie with the TV game itself. I bought this because the regular RCA cable barely worked when connected directly to my smart TV. It would work for only a few minutes at a time, then bomb out. So upon research on what I could try, this came up as one of the options that work - by connecting the TV game console to my TV via HDMI using this converter. Unfortunately, it does nothing at all. When connected, my TV doesn't even pick up that anything is connected.
So if you're looking at getting this device for a better experience when playing your old TV game console on your smart TV, be aware that it may not work. -
Helped me a lot to turn my old TV into a smart TV. I would definitely recommend this to my friends. It doesn't show as good as with HDMI but it is still good.

Good Product
I use this device to connect my CCTV system (HDMI) to my TV in the living room (RCA). Tried to use HDMI extenders, but they were too expensive and did not work. So, the RCA output is powerful enough to carry the video signal between two separate rooms. Easy to install, just require a USB powersource for the device.

The converter is doing the job that it is supposed to do. The converted image on the TV screen is slightly elongated and cannot be fixed because this older model TV does not have a keystone adjustment option
