How an OTDR Launch Cable Works
An OTDR launch cable is placed between the OTDR instrument and the fibre link being tested. The additional fibre length allows the OTDR to move beyond its initial measurement dead zone, making it easier to evaluate the performance of the first connector and the beginning of the fibre link.
When used with a suitable receive cable at the far end, technicians can also evaluate the far-end connector and overall connection loss more accurately.
Rugged Field-Ready Design
The 1KM fibre cable is neatly wound inside a protective hard-shell enclosure, helping prevent tangling, excessive bending and accidental damage during transportation and installation.
