The COMPTYCO KP600 APC Mini Palm OTDR Fiber Optic Tester is a compact, professional all-in-one fiber optic and network testing instrument designed for FTTH installation, telecommunications, fiber optic maintenance, troubleshooting, and field network testing. By combining multiple optical and copper cable testing functions into one portable device, the KP600 helps technicians perform a wide range of testing and diagnostic tasks without carrying several separate instruments.

At the heart of the KP600 is a 1310/1550nm dual-wavelength OTDR designed for testing G.652D single-mode fiber. With a dynamic range of 24/22 dB and selectable measurement ranges from 100 m to 100 km, the tester is suitable for both short-distance FTTH access networks and longer fiber optic links.

The KP600 provides an event blind area of approximately 2.5 m and an attenuation blind zone of approximately 8 m, allowing technicians to identify and analyze fiber events such as connectors, splices, bends, breaks, and other points of signal loss. With support for up to 20,000 sampling points and multiple selectable pulse widths from 5 ns to 10 `ecs, the tester provides flexible testing options for different fiber link conditions.

The one-click automatic measurement and analysis function simplifies OTDR operation by automatically performing measurements and analyzing detected events. The integrated event map provides a straightforward visual representation of events along the fiber, helping technicians quickly understand the condition and location of faults.

Integrated Optical Testing Functions

1. OTDR & Event Map
The OTDR measures fiber distance, attenuation, and events while helping locate faults such as breaks, bends, connectors, and splices. Test results can be stored in the standard .SOR file format for documentation and further analysis.

2. Optical Power Meter (OPM)
The integrated OPM supports nine calibration wavelengths: 850, 1270, 1300, 1310, 1490, 1550, 1577, 1625, and 1650 nm. With a measurement range of -50 to +26 dBm, it can be used to measure optical signal levels across a wide range of fiber optic network applications.

3. Visual Fault Locator (VFL)
The built-in VFL provides an output power of ≥10 mW and is specified for fault detection over distances exceeding 10 km. Its visible red laser can assist technicians in identifying suitable fiber breaks, bends, and other visible faults.

4. Optical Light Source (OLS)
The integrated optical light source supports CW, 270 Hz, 330 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz modulation modes. When used together with the OPM, this function can assist with optical loss testing and fiber link verification.

5. RJ45 Network Testing & Wire Tracking
The KP600 also provides copper network testing functions, including Ethernet cable sequence testing, cable length measurement, and wire tracking. The included receiver probe and RJ45 remote module make it easier to identify and trace network cables during installation and maintenance.

The 3.5-inch HD colour touchscreen provides a clear interface for viewing fiber traces, event maps, measurement results, and system settings. The compact palm-sized design makes the tester particularly convenient for technicians working in equipment cabinets, distribution boxes, termination points, and other restricted areas.

The KP600 is powered by a built-in 4000mAh / 3.7V lithium battery and supports Type-C charging, allowing convenient operation in the field without requiring a direct mains power connection. An integrated LED flashlight also provides useful illumination when working in dark cabinets, panels, or low-light environments.

Test results can be stored internally, with capacity for at least 1,000 files, while external SD/TF card expansion provides additional storage. The tester supports standard .SOR files, making it suitable for storing and transferring OTDR measurement records.
