The COMPTYCO KP600 UPC OTDR Fiber Optic Tester is a compact, multifunctional fibre network testing instrument designed for FTTH installation, fibre optic maintenance, network troubleshooting and field technicians. Combining multiple optical and copper cable testing functions into one handheld device, it eliminates the need to carry several separate testers.

Operating at 1310nm and 1550nm dual wavelengths, the KP600 provides accurate fibre length measurement, attenuation analysis, optical loss testing and fault location on G.652D single-mode fibre. With a dynamic range of up to 24/22dB, testing distances can be selected from 100m through to 100km, making the instrument suitable for a wide range of fibre network applications.

The built-in 3.5-inch HD multi-touch colour display provides an intuitive interface for navigating test functions and viewing measurement results. Its one-click automatic measurement capability simplifies testing by automatically analysing fibre distance, loss, attenuation and events, while the integrated Event Map provides a visual representation of the fibre link.

Integrated Testing Functions

1. OTDR & Event Map

The OTDR module measures fibre length, attenuation, reflection loss and fault locations over distances up to 100km. With a 2.5m event blind area and 8m attenuation blind zone, the KP600 can assist with identifying fibre breaks, connectors, splices and other network events. Test results can be stored in standard .SOR format.

2. Optical Power Meter (OPM)

The integrated OPM supports nine calibration wavelengths:

It provides an optical power measurement range of -50 to +26dBm, making it suitable for measuring optical signal levels across various fibre network systems.

3. Visual Fault Locator (VFL)

The VFL emits visible red laser light at an output of ≥10mW, helping technicians identify fibre breaks, severe bends, poor connections and other visible faults. Its stated detection range extends beyond 10km, depending on fibre and environmental conditions.

4. Optical Light Source (OLS)

The integrated optical light source supports 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths and multiple modulation modes, including CW, 270Hz, 330Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. This allows the KP600 to be used together with an optical power meter for fibre link loss testing.

5. RJ45 Network Testing & Wire Tracking

In addition to optical fibre testing, the KP600 provides copper network cable testing functions. It can perform RJ45 line sequence checks, cable length measurements and wire tracking, with the included remote adapter and receiver probe helping technicians identify and trace cables.

6. Storage & Data Management

The tester can internally store at least 1,000 test files and supports external SD card expansion. OTDR measurement data can be saved in standard .SOR format, allowing results to be retained for documentation, analysis and maintenance records.

7. Portable Power System

A built-in 4000mAh / 3.7V lithium battery powers the tester, while the Type-C charging interface provides convenient charging and data connectivity. The integrated rear LED lamp can also provide additional illumination when working in dark or poorly lit areas.
